The comittee of new club of Czechoslovakian wolfdogs in Germany arranged on
6.-7.4.2002 a meeting, at beautiful mountains Harz near to little town Rodishain.
The meeting hosted a small hotel, with peculiar name "Wolfsmühle" , which means
"Wolf´s Mill".
The participants of the meeting started to arrive Saturday morning, some of
them arrived already Friday evening. The meeting was organised also as a meeting
of all, who want finally after years unite all breeders and owners of Czechoslovakian
wolfdogs in Germany. Up to now, our wolfdogs are organised in the same association
with Saarlos wolfhounds. Now this association decided to divide both breeds
to independent clubs.

Participants of meeting (some just depart to home)
At midday was on the meeting already about 35 participants including foreigners
(Czech Republic, Poland and Netherlands). The program started by negotiating
about present steps of the comittee for joining the club to VDH (German kynological
organisation), attempts to unite the conditions for breeding with countries
of origin (bonitation) and organisation questions. It is neccessary to say,
that in Germany is the legislative for accepting new club very difficult and
the conditions more than strict. So the journey to definitive accepting of the
new club, as the only garant of breeding CsW in Germany, will be quite long.
After this part of program, which was held by the chairwoman of the comitee
Tanja Brinkmann ("von der Ummelner Mühle"), the other activities took in hands
the main organisator of the event - Jörg Schmidt ("von der Wolfsschleife").
We all moved in front of the hotel and together with our dogs we went for a
walk in the forest. There we (some after a long deciding) unleashed our dogs.
And since then, the walk became unforgetable experience, since all those about
30 CsW's and some pups started to run around us like a big pack. "Oh my God",
you will say, "there must have been so many bited dogs". It might be surprising
for you, but not at all ! There were not even little problems, besides occasional
growling, when two dominant males met. Except this, the whole pack had no problems.
When one dog found a path to a creek, all followed. During this about 2 km long
walk we met few people on a trip, and they couldn't believe their eyes. When
they saw the pack of "wolves", they felt probably themselves more like in a
dream or fairy tale.

About propagation of our dogs took care Jörg, who avised the whole event in
local newspapers, and already during the first part of program were comming
first people and asked, when they will be able to see our wolfdogs. We satisfied
them in the end of walk, when we went with our dogs together through part of
Rodishain and the local could watch them directly from gardens of their houses.
In the late afternoon continued negotiating about the organisational things
and after a short evening walk with dog started the evening fun. People were
a lot discussing, planning (among others also the special dog show with a referee
from Czech Republic) and making new friends. Thanks to that the team of wolfdog.org
was in strong formation (Margo, Karin, Przemek and me), we talked also about
the help for new club in its internet presentation. We preplanned also a Czech-German
meeting of CsWs at dog school area, which is owned by Michael Eichhorn ("Zlatá
Palz") and which is directly on Czech-German borders close to crossing Strazny-Philippsreuth.
About the term we will inform you in time, of course. The evening was very long
and the last group left around two in the morning.
In the morning we took about half one hour for taking photos and then we moved
30 km away to a western town "Pullman city II." We had a lower entrance fee,
as an organisated group :o). Right at the entrance, we were in the center of
attention and we had to answer many questions. I must say, that we were asked
also in czech, because two from the performers in local program were Czech.
The interest of visitors and employees of the western city didn't leave us though
up to the end of our visit. They had all there - horses, bulls, cowboys and
indians, but "wolves" came only with us !

Visiting the western town ended our meeting and the participants slowly headed
back home (the participant living most far had to go more than 1000 km). During
the whole meeting, we had a nice sunny weather, only with cold wind. It is neccessary
to thank to the organisators of the event, to the employees of the hotel and
to all participants for greatly spent weekend. A nice gift came from Ladislav
Takacs (Amarok Sedy chlup), which couldn't join the event and he sent the participants
two big original Czech cakes of 70 cm in diameter, with name and date of the
meeting made by jam. Everybody enjoyed it a lot.
