Is it better to provide a puppy or an mature dog (bitch)?
Author: Pavel, Translation: Mirkawolf (Dec 06, 2001 - 01:59 PM)
FAQ-en It depens on your experience and the kind of the dog (bitch). On the whole it is better to take the dog (bitch) as young as possible, because of its upbringing. Older dog can have various bad manners or behaviour of their last owner's example and this can be a big problem to change. But this also depends on character of the dog. Some experienced breeders buy older dogs so that they can use them for breeding as soon as possible and mainly also in this age there is already obvious if the dog is or is not presupposed to be good for breeding. To tell the truth, nobody exactly knows, what the puppy will be like as an adult. For the beginners, less experienced breeders and owners who don't think of the breeding is better to take a puppy and bring it up according to our idea.
