Of course, Czechoslovakian wolfdog has a lot different qualities
in comparison to other "ennobled" breeds. Of course, he brought from his
wild ancestor some of his qualities. The "problem" of his training is in
that the CSW is in comparison to other dogs more independent and he thinks
more about what he is doing. The training must be then held with thought
of this. We canīt say it is more difficult, it is just "different". The
training skills of CSW and its ability for that proves the basic cause of
development of this breed. It was an order by Czechoslovakian border patrol.
This breed was made as official and it wasnīt allowed to keep the CSW in
privacy. The training skills proves the best the
dogs with oficial test certifikates.
Speaking about if CSW is again neccessary to say, that
it brings many qualities of the wolf. The wolf is very shy animal, which
escapes from the man. A healthy wolf attacks only in case, when he cannot
escape. This shyness is inborn to CSW too. Of course, that extremely shy
animals are not allowed to breed. However, agressive animals are very
rare exception among CSWs. In United States, a statistic about number
of reported attacks of dog towards man is held. The following chart shows
some of breeds and number of attacks in percents according to total number
of bred animals. The statistic is for years 1979-1994 and it is an annual
average. It is neccessary to say, that in these years there was about
300.000 wolfdogs bred in United States.
