On invitation of the Breederīs club of Czechoslovakian wolfdog in Italy (C.A.L.C.),
a "delegation" of our Club joined the 1. National (Club) exhibition of Czechoslovakian
wolfdogs, which was held on September 5, 1999 in a mountain town Serramazoni
at Modena. Most of the participants arrived on Saturday 4th September in evening.
We stayed opposite to a beatiful park, where the exhibition was held. A visit
of the one and only working breeding station of Czechoslovakian wolfdogs in
Italy was arranged for the members of our Club on Saturday. The co-owner of
the station is Mr. Fabio Caselli also co-organised the whole event (our members
know Mr. Caselli from the Club exhibition 1999, where his bitch Ariska winned
the young class). Unfortunately, it was raining whole Saturday and it looked
very unluckily for us. There was a dinner organised together with the Italian
members of the exhibit in the evening.
We woke up into a cloudy day on Sunday, but luckily it was not raining. The
sun started to shine during the day and the exhibition proceeded at nearly ideal
weather. The exhibition started at 10 A.M. and even one hour before the start
it was sure, that the event will have a great importance. At the exhibition
area was already about 60 dogs and yet still other kept coming. The final count
ended at number 60. From this reason, the exhibition in Serramazoni belongs
among the most occupied CsW exhibitions in history.
The wolfdogs were acessed in two circles, in one bitches, in the second dogs.
The dogs were judged by Ing. Karel Hartl, the bitches by Ing. Monika Soukupova.
Invited was also the Italian referee Mr. Silvio Rivolta, which was teached and
helped by Ing. Hartl. The requirements to the referees were hard, in both circles
were always 10-15 participants. Anyway, the judgement proceeded quickly and
without problems. After judging the dogs in the circles and after a necessary
break, the program continued on the festive stage, where the puppies and breeding
pairs were judged.
After this, the whole event ended in declaring the winners of the classes and
declaring the best dog, bitch and the winner of the exhibition. The quality
of the displayed wolfdog showed that, as Ing. Hartl said in his acessing of
the exhibition, Italy has enough quality dogs for starting succesfuly their
own breeds. Unfortunately, some of the participants were first time on the exhibition
and it was seen, that they do not have enough experiences with displaying their
dog. Hovewer, everybody gave his best and I suppose, that the next Club exhibition
will have a better level again.
In the summary is possible to say, that the exhibition was prepared very good
and the organizers had no problems. I am sorry, but I have to mention two things,
which made some troubles. The first one was a lack of discipline of some of
the participants, which were not able to clean their dogs excrements. The organizers
did their best, there was a cleaning team running on the place and there were
also dutspans for "self-service" cleaning. The second thing was a bad evidence
of participants, which registered themselves after the deadline of the catalog.
Luckily, none from these woldogs wasnīt present in the acessed places in the
individual classes.
It is necessary to say, that the exhibition was a big succes, and that disproved
all the doubts about the work of the Italian club. We can only hope, that a
similar event will take place in next years again and that we will meet its
participants on the exhibitions at us and in foreign countries too.
P.S. Because of the language barrier, the big succes of the
exhibition is also the work of Sarka Matrasova and Viktor Kudlacek, which helped
as the interpreters during the exhibition and also after it.
