In last days, when I opened some pages here on WD (especially gallery), my PC told me: " there is virus ( trojan horse), delete conection".

its different situation sometimes whe have problems in the link ( principally when people dont pass properly the link to the forum when post photos of the gallery) the avast show this message but there are no virus.
In this case we have a fake account called ladyadministrator which's passing fake messages with a dangerous link.

People, administrators have their nick with different collor, light yellow, whille users have it in blue and moderators in more darker yellow than admin.

Why my avast always makes alarm when I open some pages on Wolfdog? Does somebody know it?
Is on WD any troyan? Or what?

Get Firefox and install the ad-block plus plugin. No more ads.

Many virus programs will give false positives to be on the safe side, even something as simple as a cookie (from this site etc.) could trigger it. Or it could be scripts in some posts / signatures.

I've haven't had Avast alert me when I'm on this site yet, though. Avast has been the best free anti-virus that I've used so far. I'd also recommend Ad-Aware and SpyBot - great anti-malware programs.

As for the OP - sounds like a pseudovirus / scareware attempt. When the program is installed it will alert you that you have a virus and "click here" to clean it. When you click it takes you to a site where you need to purchase their program to clean it.

Is it necessary to install the plug in ? When I try to open any page located on wolfdog.org, Avast screams there is a possible virus/worm in http://www.wolfdog.org/eng/litters/themes/Wolfdog/images/pix-t.gif\{gzip} . So, what do you recommend ?

draggar 01-03-2010 21:16

I get a page not found error when I go to that URL with and without the {gzip} at the end.

The plugin I mentioned just blocks ads on many sites.
