I spent part of my childhood in Bedfordshire, but had no idea it was so abundant in wolves

I've found them as Mexican Wolves - Canis Lupus: http://animaldiversity.ummz.umich.ed....jpg/view.html

Nord or south European wolves are not completely the same. Carpatian are not recognized sub spicies. But there is a difference.
But the wolf at the fence, is it a real 100% wolf?

Well some times its hard to tell. I have wolves and also Wolfdog-wolfmixes who look very much like that one on your picture. The one in the back who's running look's much my Carpatian Wolf named Knurr.
This is my new pack.

Does the sanctuary in bedfordshire have a home page?

I heard about that trip! Wolf Park where Monty works is near here, and my fiance and I went to a seminar there in July. Monty took some amazing pictures for all of us, it was the best experience getting to meet the wolves!
