Sorry, you are mistaken, there were 5 wolves involved in the creation of our breed.
However, for the rest, I absolutely agree with you.

I am stupid , I forgot last wolf female LEJDY from ZOO + german sheepdog Bojar von Schottenhof.
This german sheepdog had perfect working character and he was used much times in breeding of german sheepdogs in czech army. His childrens had very strong working character. He helped to "us" breed with working character of wolfdogs very much.

Hi. I think there were many german shepherds used for breeding. Every F1 generation was crossed back to GS, also the F2 and F3 and sometimes also F4 I think.

Yes, the "net" of begining of breeding is very difficult - to explain it. I wrote only german sheepdogs with wolves , only "first mateings". There was more GS.

I think it probably would be possible to count the GSD´s, if somebody gave it the time and patience. But somehow, most of people is interested in the wolf´s part of the project and tracking their dogs origin back to the wolf So everyone knows, there were five wolves, but nobody really bothers, how many German shepherds

Now because of the historie of our breed?
And only intrested in a wolf's part,is denial ,that also the german sheperd has taken part, to this breed.

With only the wolf,we did not have this breed.
Than it was only,a wolf.

Greetings Martine.

Yeah, you are right, just four wolves. Five lines. For some reason, I have it fixated in my mind, there were five of them. Nevermind. My apologies

Rona you make me die!

About this I have a question to make to those you know more.

Is it true that when Czechs used Lejdy and most of all Kazan (F1)
http://www.wolfdog.org/dbase/d/910
the slovaks refused (for a while) to recognize him and his litters??

Statistisc? - I love it....

There were 48 GSD (maybe more were crossed but I counted only dogs which can be found in the pedigrees of your dogs).
Between them such famous GSD as DDR Winners Condor vom Falkenwappen(1962 & 1963), Condor Marderpfahl, Greif vom Felsenstein and some more. You can find also many like Alex Rudingen where almost all dogs in his pedigrees passed the SchH3 exams (not only males ).

Anyway in our database you can find only first generations of the GSDs (we decided not to include all GSD till to the beginning of history of this breed but only the specific dog and his/her parents.....)
