Default The CSV in community service, as working dog and family pet.

Hi to you all.

A Norwegian magazine has requested me writing a major article profiling the CSV. In order to do this, I need as much information as possible of dogs as community servants ( i. e. search and rescue dogs etc) , sports (i. e. mondioring, IPO, tracking etc), as family dogs (all kind of activities), Governmental/Army use etc etc. And of course pictures (as many as you can provide) in a format suitable for printing. Any help is appreciated.
Information should be mailed to: [email protected]

I have temporarily "nicked" this http://home.online.no/~perolav/pic.htm picture from The Wolfdog.org Gallery. Anyone who have further information of the photographer?

This picture was most probably taken by Ori. It's a photo of Amber z Peronowki, who yesterday won the 2nd prize in Obedience Competiton, scoring 194 out of 200 points!
Congratulations to Amber and Ela!!!

Sorry, Przemek Ori takes so many fantastic pictures of Amber, that I thought it was one of them.... By the way, do you happen to know who the pretty little girl is, not at all afraid of 'the wolf'?

You can ask Ori - I'm not 100% sure but I think it is her cousin...

Just for your information I'll appreciate receiving any kind of pics showing the versatlity and usefulness of the breed: as family pet, hiking companion, as working dog, sports, humorous pics, and not to forget dogs and children when together.

The main point of the Norwegian banning of the csv was that due to the close heritage to the wolf, the csv, compared to other breeds, more likely would attack and kill small children when running and falling.

The other point was that the breed should be kept by trained experts only.

I find that the dog is the mirror of the owner. For more wolf that it is, if it will be accustomed with children it does not go to attack thus, of the nothing. Another thing is that it has that to have certain cares when leaving a dog, independent of the race, with small children.

I never would leave a small child the alone ones with a dog, exactly that he is one poodle

A time happened of a Brasilian Mastiff (Fila Brasileiro) to kill a child who always played with the dog, was the son of the neighbor. I find that the owner of the dog must at the very least have read something about the breed before having one, or the breeder to have to less the most spoken on the breed for the purchaser.
This breed does not tolerate the presence of strangers.

Hi Per Olav

May I ask what magazine you are writing an article for? I am supporting your effort to promote the breed with unprejudiced information. After all its not easy to live with wolfdogs in a country with an abundance of dangerous packs of wolves (approx 20 individuals) attacking dogs in the backyard where small children play (according to Aslaug Haga).

The President of the Norwegian Kennel Club expressed in a editorial note in our Dog Sport Magazine that the ban of the Czechoslovakian Wolfdog not was based on facts but on special interest from a group of individuals.

The information received by (among others) our Department of Justice is identified as false, but even knowing this fact and the Departments statement of no evidence of the CSV as a dangerous breed, the Ministry reccomende the ban "due to the close heritage to the wolf and that the breed more likely than any another breed may be a threath to children" (which is more or less a word by word quoting from a public letter made by one of the most prominent individuals in support of the ban). Even a petition ftrom the Slovakian Kennel Club did not change the Ministrys opinion.

As you probably know, the supporters of a ban have made the CSV a "major enemy". This include false information to our governmental authorities, news articles, TV spots and even personal and public harassment of the owners of the wolfdog, in particular the CSV.

It is no secret that this particular site is used as a source of information by the supporters of a ban and by not knowing your identity, I do hope of your understanding by "keeping the cards close to my chest".

I know as well as is this, appears the "great specialists there" who speak on the breed as if they knew everything, being that never they had contact with the race that is being criticized
