Welcome!

Could you write us more? Do you have any CSVs? Or do you think about buying
one?

Greetings,
Margo

Hello,

I love animals in general but more particularly wolves - and dogs because
they are cousins.... About 1 year 1/2 ago I first saw a CsW at a show in
Switzerland (the only one there was) and found it very beautiful. I talked
with its owner for a long time to learn all about it. I have gone to all the
sites on the internet on dogs to find information about this breed and know
as much as I can this way.

Since then, I know that some day I will have several CsW. At the moment, I
do not have any dogs. I love animals and only want to get one or more when
I will have time and space to take care of it / them. I very often think of
getting one - for my birthday or for christmas, but I know now is not the
time. I work a lot and travel as well so I am not at home very much. I do
not have a garden and so I think it is best to wait.

So by subscribing to this list, I hope to learn more and get ready for the
day when I will buy one. Then I will definitely go to the Czech Republic to
get one as they come from there and those are the ones who must know most
about the breed. I want to get a healthy wolfdog - both in body and in the
head. But that is for the future.

Hoooowwwllll!

Hi Damaris,

You told that you saw your first CsV in Switzerland; we too and now we own two.
We can always remeber the day we met the first CsV. It was at the Lake Türler;
and she was the most beatiful dog we had ever seen. Right then we new that our
next dog will be CsV, and from this time on we have learnd a lot more about this
exiting breed. It is very good not to hurry getting a one; learn to know the
breed well first and visit many dogs and owners to be able to get a realistic
picture of CsVs - and if the breed really is the right one to you. If you live
in Switzerland and are interested please contact the SCTW, our breedclub. Make
arrangements to see more dogs and to learn more about the breed. If you want to
learn to know our dogs ask our phone number.

Now everyone can see how important are the dog shows..... )))

I also met the first wolfdog at the dog show. It was 1996 in Leipzig. We
were showing Afghan hounds. Unexpectedly the dogs started to be nervous. The
reasons was....a wolf. First his owner explained that i was wrong and it's
"only" a CsW....

Greetings,
Margo

Maybe a short notice (if is it possible by me write a short ) ) to my preview
email. I have nothing against shows generally. I hate only the trend to go to
show only because "hunting" the titels. Margo is absolutely right - dog shows
are important. But not because all CAC, CACIB, BOB etc., but because we
introduce our dogs. If you see on show the dog, which is absolutely shy and
owner must push him to the ring with brutal power, then is clear, that this
owner dont go to the show, because want make a good propagation of CsW.
Show is from verb "to show" its mean introduce my dog to visitors. The beauty
contest may be only like a "refreshing" of show and not a main thing, like we
see today. This problem is a basic for all other problems with shows, which we
can see today. Lot of owners and breeders want to reach the highest awards. But
really top CsWs is not so much. Then trying to found way to reach it not 100%
fair ways. You can see, how many champions is in our race and how many
champions dont visit czech or slovakian club show, which is most valuable show
for CsW, because the experienced and experts judges and big competition. Now I
dont want to attacking the good CsW owners, they have a CsW with champion title,
because in most other countries, then CZ and SK you can get relatively very easy
the champion and more dogs get it without any unfair ways. The good example is
my Hoky. He need only 1 CAC in Poland today and will be polish champion. But he
get normally by czech club show "very good" only, but in other countries is no
problem for him to get a title.
CsW is a working dog, so that in CZ and SK need for champion a test certificate
(minimaly on level IPO1). Same need for interchampion. Of course, that in CZ are
tendency to make a easier ways to get a champion. E.g. some people here
suggested, that for champion need only certificate, that dog run 40 km. Why so ?
Again we are by the basic problem. People want to get the awards easier as
possible. But if we will go this way, then we will be in future in same problem
like some other races - two lines - show line and working line. And I personaly
think, that its very much degraded our dogs.
As more of you know, I go with my dogs to more shows as well. But I go there to
show my dogs and meet the friends, the awards are for me uninteresting. Am proud
on my dogs and me is doesnt matter, that Hoky is little bit out of standard, he
have own fans as well ).

It was my "short" notice )))
