Default Crate size

Hi all,

How big a crate is needed for a fully grown male CSW? I'm thinking of getting a Vari Kennel, but was wondering if it should be a XL or Giant kennel?

Thanks in advance!

it depends how large the males matures into of course

but for my male the giant size vari-kennel is comfortable. he can fit also into the XL, but he has the type of character where he likes & doesn't mind snug spaces.

Perfect, I'll buy a XL for crate training and time will tell if he grows too big for this the giant is more than double the price here in Denmark...

Thank you :-)

Sure! btw, my male is about 70cm at the shoulder, and he fits like I said into the XL too.

But just one thing - I don't think it will be possible to airship a grown male in anything besides Giant kennel size due to the regulations on size by IATA - the dog must be able to stand up completely and there must still be clear space above the ears.

Of course, I don't think we ever have to get him on a plane, and if we do have to anyway, we just have to get a giant one at that time :-)

Thanks :-)

we are using midwest/ovation crate... Tito is about 63cm/25" now... and we have 42inch size crate: W 109 x D 73.6 x H 77.4cm

http://www.worldstores.co.uk/p/Midwe...nd_Divider.htm

It's perfect for us and Tito loves it

For use only at home, a wire crate may well work out a lot cheaper. We have one a similar size to the one Mag posted above and BJ fits in it OK. It is, in my opinion, getting a little small for him but he loves it

fyi, BJ is 71cm to the shoulder (and, being almost 2 years old, I hope that is his growing (in height) finished with :P )
