Question

Can you describe it closer for us ?

Is it flat or does it point out ? does it seam to bother the dog, itch for example ?

To me it just look like he hurt himself on something hard as a puppy
But I’m no veterinarian

Very best regards / Mikael

If the spot is a sore, I would take my dog to the vet and have the skin scraped. It can a skin infection, or it can be something else like an injury, but the spot is so big, I would want to try and take care of it as soon as possible either way!

It looks like a scar to me. I have seen that in dogs that played with a stick and crushed it into their palatinum.
