SLEDDOG with CZW
Hi everyone,
Last weekend me and my wife, after a lot of training on mud and grass, went to dogsledding on snow with our czws. We all had a lot of fun and we find out how good are our wolvesdog in that discipline. Since what I know, in Italy nobody have experience on it (sleddog with czw). Any of you have it? Do you know anyone that has it? Please, let me know. I'd like to share experiences, comments, problems, details or suggestions with someone really interested on it. Now I post some pictures taken last tuesday between Tarvisio (Italy) and Kranjska Gora (SLO). Enjoy: Cheers, Stefano |

Hi, Stefano,
Take contact with some owners and breeders in the Slovak Republique. There are some people with have their dog on the sledge. Beginning of years 1990, there was the owner of the kennel Krotkovskeho Dvora very succesfull with the sledges. He won several prices. Greetings, Letty from Holland |

Different people ask me more details on this experience with private msgs so, with pleasure, i write here for everyone:
Everything is started 15 years ago with Belle a young siberian husky. At that time We was able to have only one dog so we never had a real sleddog team but we enter in that word training our husky, following races, becaming ESDRA judges and dreaming about the day we could be able to have an our own team. In september 2005 "we've been kept" by Ely (our first czw) and we started training her since she was a puppy (10 months old) with Belle. She teached how to follow the trail during our trekking. So, they were used to walk together side by side in front of us. Last March Belle passed away and we kept traing Ely with Yuk (our second czw). Because of lack of snow in our country we went out with them just for trekking and running in the wood, grass and mud :-(. We are very lucky because both of our dogs have a strong desire to run and we let them run free every morning and every evening during the week and we go out with them almost every weekend. Last year we partecipated to a couple of dogtrekking races and they ran very well. We had problems only because if they met each other during the trail it was impossible separate each other any more and keep running with different rithms (they ONLY wanted run together!). So in the next months we went to trekking together and we linked eachother with a so-called "neckline". A little lesh that link the two dog (always used in sleddog). Last week we went to see a race in Tarvisio and the days after we tryied to make the great jump into the word of sleddog with our two cwz. And the result has been amazing! The first day they run for 6 kms, with just a few stops (that we decided), and every time we restart they just can't wait to come back to run: it was really amazing, and unaspected (for us). The day after we made 4 rounds of 2kms each, and every time we stopped they (Ely in particular) got crazy because of her willing to run again! Every one was shocked by this! They ran so fast that sometimes we had to slowdown the sled! I can assure you that with only two dogs in your team this is NOT normal! Is much more probably that you have to help your dog running with them - Furyos, thanks for your compliments and I can assure you that the people who says "wolfdog are not huskies" are TOTALLY RIGHT! Thanks again to everyone: It's always a pleasure to write about these and I look forward to hear more experiences from you Stefano |

Really great all the pics and the video!!!! Super!!!!
I have a 15 month old male csw and 5 year old Briard French herding dog. He is crazy for runing. We took 2 month ago part at the dryland sledgdog worldchampionship in germany for the german national team in the categorie bikejöring. Although he has a short back is runing his heart out of his body. For the people who don´t know what bikejöring is, I am sitting on my mountain bike and Hanni is in front of me with a line on the bike or at my body how you like it. And than in the last two month we started training U´Tala. With Hanni I never needed to train but with my csw yes. But I go in front with Hanni and my 11 year old daughter follows with Tala. And sometimes he is a bit bit faster than Hanni. And Hanni is aorund top ten in the world (8th, 9 th place), in germany top 3. So I am looking forward for the next winter than we will start races with him. He has a more long body like a cheetah, which are the fastest animals as everybody knows. The bikejöring distances are between 3 and 7 km. Yesterday there was lot of snow here in germany, but today it is to warm. But I think we will get more snow and than we go by sledg. By christian |
