Hi! We're new here..

Hello to everyone at these fora..

My name is Jing (Marcy from Galomy Oaks knows me as Jen but I prefer Jing). I’m new here and I just wanted to say hi.

Here’s a little bit about us (my boyfriend and me)…
We are originally from Japan but right now we are living in Philadelphia, PA. We live with three dogs who are nice enough to let us share the house with them.

We travel with our dogs and like to do activities such as hiking with them. This past winter we took two of our dogs back to Japan for our winter holiday.. our third, our Doberman, is going on to 13 years old so we thought it best to leave him with my sister this year.

I have been researching CSVs since at least 2008.. most recently I had the pleasure to visit Marcy’s kennel in Virginia and meet her dogs. Meeting them, in many ways, helped me to reach my decision that within the next 1-2 years we would like to have a CSV. Being on the fora helps me to fill in the gaps that only experience can fill.

We don’t have too many questions at this point; just wanted to say hello to everyone!

Hello and welcome Jing

CsV is for sure one of the best hiking dogs in the world ;-)
They walk and walk and never get tired.

Do you plan to move back to Japan whit the dog later on ???

Best regards / Mikael

Nebulosa.. thank you! :)

Mikael - One day, maybe about 5 or 6 years down the road we will take all of our dogs back to Japan with us permanently. Our dogs have all been there before and liked it.. (especially the beef and eggs.)

Hiking is one of my favorite hobbies. I also would like to bike with our future CSV.

Hello Jing!
I think I can predict your future vlcak will be very popular in Japan!!! 8) Our CSV rises huge interest among Japanese tourists who visit my city. Quite common dialogue in the Old Town: "ōkami, ōkami...." "No, this is dog, inu !!!" They take lots of photos of Lorelei - we don't protest since for her it's fun and good socialisation opportunity 8) But... I was wondering how many people in Japan think now that Krakow is a city where friendly wolves are walking in the streets ... ;-):)

Anyway - welcome and good luck!!!

Again, wonderful to meet you guys!!! Such sweet, well behaved dogs! Welcome to "the club"!

Marcy

Rona.. funny you should mention about Krakow being a home to friendly wolves wandering the streets.. :)

You probably know, but Nara is a city in Japan with real, friendly deer wandering about. They let you approach and take photos with them, etc.. and they have no handlers.

Wonder what the deer would think? People walk their dogs through the parks and public places where the deer are.. of course, in Japan the most popular are the small dogs but sometimes you do see an Akita here or there.

Hi Marcy!! :hand

Looking forward to learning more so we can be more prepared.. try to be, anyway.. :o

Please dont reply in kanji, I had to work a little to find that;), I want to welcome you as well. I lived in Sasebo for 7 months, and have also visited the island Okinawa for some time. I wanted to tack on a small story of what happened here today in Italy... I was held up by a herd of sheep in the road, (the shepherd saw Elsa growling at them)... and the she ran down in the floorboard. I rolled my window down and asked if he had ever seen a wolf afraid of sheep before??? Unfortunately, he didn't seem to see the humor. Anyways, if you ever have any issues or concerns, don't be afraid to ask here. Jason Young

Hi Jason! Thanks for the welcome!

Italy, parts of it, anyway, sounds very pastoral... I'd love to go someday!
'Wolf' afraid of sheep! Well, Luna (our minpin) is smaller than most cats so although she'll bark at them, when given the chance, she stays far, far away from them.. :)
