I think it probably would be possible to count the GSD´s, if somebody gave it the time and patience. But somehow, most of people is interested in the wolf´s part of the project and tracking their dogs origin back to the wolf
So everyone knows, there were five wolves, but nobody really bothers, how many German shepherds
