[QUOTE = SERENA; 280542e] Maar het octrooi voor hypofysaire dwerggroei was niet enige Nederlandse universiteit voor het moment?
Laat mij begrijpen, kan deze test? [/ QUOTE]
After years of research the Dutch university of Utrecht did discover this gene mutation. And they are now working on a scientific publication.
When this is ready they will sell the test to labs. And it depends of these labs what the price will be in future!
But because they did not want to lose time, in the meantime they test the breeds for who the test is validated.
It is a complicated test that costs a lot of time. That is why they always wait for more blood samples and test in one time. They have to do this besides their normal work and research that is why it is also a high price.
But till this moment there is not any other lab what can do the dwarfism test!
In other posts on wolfdog I did explain several times that any lab wants to have blood of a group for research!

I can give you a list of all kind of labs worldwide who wants to collect blood of breed groups

And yes it is very good when labs do research for breeds, but realize it is a commercial world!
When we send blood for Free, they can maybe develop a test for a disease. But when there is a test they can ask the same people a high price for this test!
So it is great when a lab in Italy wants to do research for a dwarfism test!

But when you send blood of a group of 20 -30 for this, you can negotiate about the price ( for all senders of blood) for a dwarfism test in future!!
