About the character test: nothing is great, the best and perfect. Also not the bonitation for CzWs but such test is much better than NONE tests at all... Sure there were some protests even in Czech Republic that the judges valued the character wrong. Many people said it must be changed and so on... The people saw that some changes are needed because in some cases it is possible to train shy dog so it will be able to pass character test (maybe not with perfect note but it was possbile to get with shy but trained dog the breeding rights if you had good friends in the breeding comittee). During some bonitations the character test was done wrong, aso, aso...
Simply said: there were problems even in CZ. And it was also the reason why the regulations has been changed during last club conference (12.06.2005) - clear and transparent rules were needed.....

1 - the character test must be done by decoy who passed special tests (for decoys)
2 - there will be no character test during the youth presentation - it was stupid to attack a puppies and test their reaction because the puppy must learn all people are GOOD and the puppy must trust people and not to be affraid of them
3 - the character test for adult dogs looks following:
a- the owner takes the dog into a group of moving people (it will be done similar to the test during the ZZO exam) - something like this can not be trained and it is very good to select really shy dogs.
b- attack. The decoy 'attacks' the dog - he simulated two blows.
c- reaction on shooting - ithe shoots must be done AFTER the attack (before it was done wrong: in many cases during the attack).
But the character is tested during whole bonitation - also during the measurements. Good judge will be already able to judge the character of a dog after this first part. If a dog is too shy to make the measurements (it don't want to stay still, it is not possible to measure the lenght of the body, of the legs, aso) the bonitation MUST be stopped because the numbers and indexes taken during such measurements are in such case ALWAYS wrong and worthless for the breeding comittee. In this case you can see by a dog the note: "bonitation postponed"...
