4 years is not "old". It is the best time for a Wolfdog....

Because CzW is fully developed first with 3-4 years - first at this age you can precise evaluate the dog. It is the reason why many breeders do not go to the bonitation with their males until they finish 2 years old. And also the reason for this:

It is even told: if a CzW look "good" and "adult" with 1-1.5 years it will NEVER be a nice Wolfdog. Why? Because if such dogs will develop 100% (it means at the age of 3-4 years) it will be too heavy, too "doggish" (and not "wolfish" anymore).
So it is the reason why most breeders do not use young male because they wait too see how the dog will develop. Sure some experienced breeders are able to foresee how the dog will look in the future but it also base on the rule "YOUNG dog MUST look YOUNG"....
Our Bolton is 7 years old and although he represents the "old-Czech"-type (which is agening faster and do not live as long as the light "wolfish"-type) he is still the same crazy dog as he was at the age of 2-3-4....
