Slovakian version of bonitation
Ok, thanks to Sasa Zahradnikova, I have now some informations about the Slovak bonitation - exactly the character test. There is quite some difference. So here we go:
Youth presentation
There is NO character test for young dogs in Slovakia
Bonitation
Dog is tied to a post and his owner goes away and hides. Figurant (with club in his hand) comes in walking pace towards the dog and tries to make contact with him. He can even caress the dog, if the dog is fine with that. Then figurant leaves.
In the next phase, the figurant comes towards the dog quickly, at signaled time there is gun shot and after that the figurant raises his hand with the club in the dogs direction, or he swings the club in the dogs direction (in such a distance that physical contact is impossible). Figurant leaves. Later he comes again calmly and tries to make contact with the dog, as in the first phase.
The figurant in Slovakia wears normal clothes, during the character test, while in CR the figurant wears the "protective clothes" for defense training.
Important is to remember, that character of the dog is judged also during the time of waiting and measuring. If the dog is perfect at the post, but gets all scared during measuring, he will not receive the best code.
