I would like to say that I own Princess De Aube @ Pacino.
I was very offended that someone could judge how well socialised my bitch is. Princess known as Cito at home is a very well balanced Czw she has been to many small local and family dog shows here in the uk. We attend horse show pony sales and street markets,Cito also goes to dog training. We are also very proud to say that Cito past the test and was granted a place to be a pets at theropy dog at a very young age. I have written permission from my council to own my Czw's and my Saarloos so I have NO reason what so ever to hide my dog. Please be more carefull to have the full facts before making such a statement in future about one of my dogs. |

Hi!
I would like to hear from all owners of pure-bred CWD who live with their dogs in the UK. I have written an article for a UK dog magazine about wolf look-a-like dogs and would like a few comments from owners of genuine CWD explaining what they like about the breed. I have confirmation from DEFRA that CWD and Saarloos do not need to be licenced and with this in mind if there are more than 10 CWD in the UK the Kennel Club may consider recognition. Best wishes, Loup-de-Bretagne |

Hi,
Just a piece of friendly advice: be careful about CSV owners who reply to your request. I trust there are honest CSV owners in the UK, but several (naturally not all) who have been writing here are somewhow obssessed with mixing wolf-resembling breeds, involved in suspicious businesses and other activities that would eventually lead to the destruction of the CSV breed. ![]() As far as I know they represent neither the views and intentions of people who are responsible for the breed (i.e. breeders), nor of any official, recognized by FCI, CSV breed clubs, nor of the breed lovers who trully care for it. ![]() Rgds Rona Last edited by Rona; 08-11-2008 at 09:41. Thanks Rona,
Yes I am aware of the situation in the UK and I have had dealings with some people of very doubtful intentions! ![]() As it is now clearly legal to own these two wolfdog breeds, it is up to the genuine breed enthusiasts to form a club, keep proper records and with the help of the breed clubs in Europe and the FCI to have the breeds recognised by the UK Kennel Club, otherwise the Uk will remain a disaster area for all wolfdogs. I have also met some owners of the cross breeds and can say not all are bad people and the dogs are very friendly, though I understand the fears of CWD owners who live outside the UK who think these cross bred dogs may be mis-represented as the real breed. I am also aware of rumours that CWD are being crossed with timber wolves; these dogs are NOT legal in the UK ![]() Best wishes, Loup-de-Bretagne |

Hi Tikaani,
Thanks for your reply, may I ask how long you have had your dog/bitch or how old he/she is? Also what attracted you to the breed and what do you like most about the breed? Best wishes Loup-de-bretagne |

Dear Mr. Winder,
if you would be able to read you would realize that I never wrote that your purebred CSW weren´t purebred. They origin of a breeder you yourself announced as a cheater but that´s your problem not mine. But you yourself have on your own website as your latest litter a litter crossed between Timberwolf-female Kizzy and CSW Male Solo or the informations on your own site are lies. One of these puppies obviously went to Germany. It also isn´t my problem when you can´t realize that the FCI-practice of phenotype registration involves the problem that mixes come into breeding as CSW. Together with the usual wolfcross-problems. Some time ago when I complained about DEFRA an English friend of mine, knowing the English dogworld more than well, told me that I should be happy the breed won´t fall into hands of English breeders. I thought at that time he was wrong. Today I know he was more than right about that. You don´t need to anwer I am really no longer interested in any of your opinions or especially statements. The latter seem to be wrong much too often for my taste. Ina Last edited by michaelundinaeichhorn; 15-11-2008 at 11:21. |

I am out of time with this one so I will not waste any more of anyones time. Since I started researching this article I have been called names, had suspicious emails and interviewed a CWD owner who turned out to be abusing their dog (now deleted). In fact the only professional and courtious help came from two breeders of the cross breeds.
I will have to admit that as the owner of two wolfdogs myself I find this worrying. Are all wolfdog owners so petty? Other dog owners seem to manage to get along just fine. In my working life I have had to deal with all sorts of people but wolfdog people seem to take the biscuit. Loup-de-bretagne |

Boy I wish you could get your story straight.. getting really hard to believe anything.. first you said you don't have any CDW.. now you say you do..you say now that you are against any crossbreeding.. however.. one of you earlier statements.. "i say i did not, now you say i breed wolf hybrids, no the correct word is wolfdogs , have i ever said that i dont breed wolfdog of different percentages NO i havnt, but if i breed wolfdogs of whatever percentage one thing i do not do IS SELL OR REGISTER THEM AS CSW AS YOU ARE TRYING TO MAKE OUT, what i breed is none of your business, people are changing in europe to different wolfdogs any idea why" and you are "totaly against" cross breeding..it's not what it sounds like.. anyways.. it's none of my business.. or anyone but yours.. right..? i tell people i have sold my CWD because certain peopleon this site say i cross bred with other breeds and now wolf, my dogs are all pure bred cwd and i am not responsable for those in uk who have cross bred, other people have imported CWD to uk over the years, i have bred 2 litters in 7 yrs, the second was bred to let me have young stock for the future nothing more, the kennel club will register our dogs very soon i am doing all the paperwork for this now, but to register a CWD in uk you will have to come via the club first so any cross bred dogs will be pulled out and not recieve pedigrees, we know where all the pure bred dogs are in uk, so as i have said on many occasions the CWD are ok in u.k., mandy

Especially if the situation is not quite easy as it still seems in the UK. So I hope you excuse the "open" questions to certain persons who claim knowing the breed and being beeder of CSW's. By the way, me and my friend Peter Neville wrote already an article in "Dogs Today" on one of my first wolfdogs called Kanto od Pavlisina back in 1995. If you like I can send it to you. Michael |
