No license to hunt the wolf!

2 January 2010 is the start of the first more extensive hunting of wolves in Sweden since the beginning of last century. More than 12 000 wolf hunters have signed up to shoot 27 wolves in the five counties Dalarna, Värmland, Gävleborg, Örebro and Surrey. Not since 1920 has been hunting of wolves in this scale conducted in Sweden. More than 10% of Sweden's wolf population is pushed away, even though there are no more than 230-250 wolves. The hunt has no scientific basis and contrary to EU nature conservation law.
