Bonsoir,

"International dog shows. Actions where come fans of various breeds from different parts of the world. While watching crowd flows from ring to ring commenting humorously without any shyness what can be seen, exhibitors occupy themselves with the last corrections of the dogs. The heart almost in throat and desire to be better then the others force them to concentrate just on the space of their further outshineness. For exhibitors are these actions prestige occasions for spectators an opportunity to create a view of each breed. That’s why these shows should be as objective as possible. Perhaps in judging breeds known tens of years appear some mistakes rarely. This is worse with young and less known breeds. In the field of international shows Czechoslovakian wolfdog to these belongs.

How this goes in the other countries I don’t know. I took part in few international shows in Netherlands. All of them had common feature-they were „nothing special“. Czechoslovakian wolfdog was every time included in-group which was already filled and competent referee didn’t know where he should look first. When was our turn after hours which seemed to be years I felt like in factory on running belt. The referee was already fell behind so he turn to us just hastily-to keep goodwill. One time run around, one time crossways, brisk examination of dentice during which possibly missing tooth couldn’t be found, for a moment stand in front of the jury and goodbye. The criteria of determining the winner remain mystery to me. It seems to me that the referees knew Czechoslovakian wolfdog just from pictures and tales. They had appointed the standard according to circumstances or they had read it in a few last moments before and didn’t remember too much of it. I saw the winning of a dog with brown-red hairs whose eyes were differently coloured, a dog that would be – given the height and weight – suitable for the category of vipets and other calamities. Aside from the fact that the rings where Csw’s should show their light trot are in some cases measured rather for Chihuahuas. After such experiences, I have a vacuous feeling in my heart. Dutch public (and maybe some others, too) will fast develop an erroneous view of an ideal individual and the breeders will follow after some time. A couple of years will pass and the race will have the same name but very few of the Czechoslovakian wolfdog’s standard.

In this situation, the only solution is participation of Czech referees in the big number of international shows abroad. It’s time to show the world what the real Czechoslovakian wolfdog should look like. The result list would then – to the astonishment of all participants – announce completely different rankings."

Michaela (Czech Republic)

Amitiés,
Phil
