Here a picture from some trained wolves who know 20(!) commands and are feed from hand! The wolfscience center in austria proves that it is possible.
And here are my pictures from the Center .... really amazing experience.

Hey Daniela, thanks for sharing. Amazing!!!! The dogs, hahaha.

I will be there in two weeks for 3 days and they want to see how I work with their wolves. I am so curious about this!

Please read this first scientific research about wolfdogs, which a russian Prof. Dr. called Iljin made in the 1920ies. He published it in 1941. The funny thing is that he mentioned a lot of german researchers of wolfdogs in that paper! But it is more genetic and morphologic and almost no behaviour like.

Thank you so much for the Link ( and in English it's easier

I think that talk of original GSD is OK as long as we are talking about original 4 wolves. Maybe??

So here's a question about original GSD - are any of the GSD used well-known individually in the GSD world? I cannot tell from the database, if the off-spring listed for the original GSD only lists CsV offspring and no other GSD litters they might have had. Or if the GSD used only had CsV-foundation litters?

Now we have new 3 different topics coming from this one:

Number of alive CzW today
About the GSD in the origin of CzW
About Wolfhybrids

The separation wasn't perfect because some post had double content, if you have better idea is only contact me by PM or e-mail.

It is not that easy to mate a wolf and a dog that have not been raised together as it is with two dogs. So I think, like with the Mutara´s parents, they just happend to be there in this combinations.

Ina
Exactly, it is not that easy to mate a wolf and a dog, so I tend to believe that lovely story how they let Brita the wolf choose her partner herself, from many GSD studs there and that it was the only one not scared of her but behaving like a dominant male! It is just a story though....
Another fact is that the primary reason for crossbreeding wolf and GSD at the beginning was the improvement of health and endurance of working dogs, especially GSD, creating the new breed came second...
