Our GSD was diagnosed with panosteitis around the age of 13 months - she is 2 years now, with no signs of the problems for the last 6 months. The problem is quite common with the GSD from what my vet said, and has a good prognosis. I don't know if this has ever been seen in the CSV.
Here is a website with some information on the disease: http://www.dogstuff.info/panosteitis_lanting.html |

In the Hip's X-ray the position of your dog is completly wrong, he must be right and with the legs paralele, so you cannot judge displasy degree by it.
I'm not speciallist so I can make a mistake but I think his left femoral head have some alterations already. Leishmaniosis at start will causes some little wound's in the dog depending of the leishmaniosis type, it can be the visceral, cutanous and mucosal, normally at cutaneous and mucosal the first thing ou will see are little wounds at dog's face, the visceral will causes fever and pain at the belly, the liver and spleen turn bigger and it can be feel easy at touch, in some cases animals with leishmaniosis can show a very quickly growing of the nails. |

You sometimes have untypical cases and if the limping leg changes and can´t be exactly located the pain could be somewhere else and just seem to be in the legs.
Sorry but I can´t judge the x-rays like that on my monitor, the monitor is not good enough. I would take all x-rays and blood tests and ask for a second opinion of an orthopedic specialist. Ina |

I have to go tomorrow for a blood test for systemic lupus, so I also have to ask for Leishmaniosis ? At the end how many parasit should we check, how many could make those symptoms ?
I'm going to find an orthopedic specialist, I already met one and also 4 different vets. No answers. I really start to have a bad feeling for my dog. Thanks. |
