Purtroppo non mi fido molto di quello che si vede dalle foto...le impressioni sono spesso sbagliate. Sopratutto quando si parla di lupi non mi azzardo a inventare una taglia solo dalla foto.

Sure But if you take in to consideration that the GSD on the picture was about 65 cm you will see the female-wolf was also not very high. And it is also visible by the first crossings. Hartl says the highes was Kazan z PS (according the bonitation card 71 cm, but people say he was about 75) and his son Artos. Maybe there were some similar dogs but the stats are gone...
In the beggining of the club [~1980] the CzW males had about 68 cm and almost all females were 60-65cm [only Oda z PS was 66cm and Alejka z PS 68 cm].

Every year we prepare statistics about CzW and basing on the bonitation results from CZ and SK for last 5 years and according the data the average height of CzW male is 68,47 cm and for female 63,23 cm.

Sure - all dogs used in this experiment were measured and tested. The army had great statistisc about crossings and Hartl wrote interesting articles. But after the system changed all data were destroyed and we have exact information only about last 25 years and some info about older dogs. Hartl said all breed books about old crossings (~before 1970] are gone. And the only source of information are old breeders like Rosik, Hartl and very few more...
