Don't you "Kermit" the green shoed handler, he travels from Rome to for example Ludwigshafen right into the German hinterland to win a show with a non typical dog, just because of his shoes and his of course brilliant handling...
He's absolutely famous, at least in Europe.

Cheers,
Michael

No, I have never heard of this person. Are you joking, or are you really serious?

Unfortunately, it's serious, but it's only one reason why show titles means nothing for the breed when we talk about quality or selection.

Good reminder! Also, there needs to be very good breed judges.

In the US, CsVs can only be shown in the UKC which requires that the owner shows his or her own dog. So here, in regards to this breed at least, there's no question about it! I personally feel that's the way it should be, too, people should be invested in the results of their own dog and not just pawn it off on a professional handler to become a big winner, especially if that person plans on breeding their dog. You should get to know your own dog's strengths and weaknesses because those are things you need to take into account when breeding. Of course there's a learning curve, and if you've never shown before you're going to take a little longer than a professional to bring out your dog's full potential, but everyone needs to start somewhere!
